Our neighbors left for the states this morning and yesterday we inherited a bunch of down and out plants and a goldfish named Lumpy. Lumpy came in a glass bowl in as bad a state as the plants so to make "her" feel better I moved her into a new home and blinged it with a few trinkets I bought on Jinli Street. Jinli has recently expanded and there is a new shop that I am absolutely crazy about selling artisan ceramics of all kinds from China's porcelain capital Jǐngdézhèn 景德镇. So Lumpy has a ceramic lotus seed pod, blue and white floating balls and a ceramic fish in whose mouth you can anchor the plant roots. She's got so much furniture now that she can hardly swim around, tomorrow she will be upgraded to a larger bowl. But for now, like it or lump it, Lumpy!
Ingrid, another beautiful photo!!! I LOVE these little blue and white floating balls (?) and I'm glad I'm not on Jinli Street (is that where we got Bosse Bagare, Citronfromage and their friends btw??), because I'm sure I would buy and buy and buy... Blue and white porcelain has a summery, fresh, crisp air around it, that I sooo like!! :-) I wish Lumpy all the best in her new home!
ReplyDeleteHej! I love the colors here too, Lumpy has already been moved to a new home though. A bit too tight of a squeeze. Now maybe I should get another fish for this bowl??? You can't imagine the danger of having a shop like that nearby. Just toooooo tempting, much more fun to buy than a hemorrhoid cushion!
ReplyDeleteHihi... you don't say!! I didn't even know a hemorrhoid cushion existed... or needed to exist... Little does one know...
ReplyDeleteMentioned in post from Apr 26 about Chinese hospitals. Even a picture, should you ever need one ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell, hi there, sister-in-law! I love your new fish and fish bowl. It's a great more more elegant than where my cat lives - usually in my face yelling for food! And how's the family?
ReplyDeleteLove, Wendy
Hi Wendy, great to see you here! Doesn't seem like Lumpy is going to make it though, maybe your cat would like to come over for a fishstick lunch? So sad, we only seem to be able to keep koi carp alive....otherwise all is well in the big DU. Work, work, work, play, play, play. P still chipping away at the PHD, me toodling around, kids happy. Hope you are too! Stay in touch and welcome to comment more ;-)
