Chris Morejohn

Photos ©Lilly Morejohn

Being temporarily in tropical climes I got to thinking of my brother Chris who lives in the Bahamas, sometimes on the boat he built (named "Hogfish Maximus"), sometimes in the house he made (called "Tightspot"). Jack of all trades he is also an incredible artist, sculpting wondrous images of fish and other animals that he finds in the world around him. At the moment he is somewhere in the Caribbean sailing to Grenada so it is a little hard to pin him down if you want to place an order. But I will continue to pester him to get his website running. Otherwise you can find his work in the various art galleries scattered around the Bahamas. That's my niece Lilly holding the parrot fish.

  2. Good to hear from you. I've forwarded your message to Chris who has now made it safely to Grenada. Rachel and the girls will meet him there in a few days. Safe sailing!

  3. Wow, it's amazing the things you find by accident. Ingrid, you and I sailed on a Gold Coast cat back in the early 90's with Chris. I've run into him a few times since then, although I haven't seen him for a while . Pass on a hi from me to Chris and his whole family.. Hopefully our paths will cross again. It's great to see you're doing well. Your photos are fantastic.

  4. Hi Tom! I remember that trip in detail. Would have much preferred if we had made it all the way to South Africa, but then life would probably be much different now! Chris is now in Grenada as you can see. I am living in China with my family. Send me an email (via my website) and I'll give you Chris email address if you like. Hopefully I'll post more of his artwork on my blog and in that way keep people updated as to what is happening with him. I get more comments about my brother than what I post about myself ;-) That should tell me something! What are you up to these days?

  5. This is Kim and Albert Winnie of the sailing v/s Kanda. We spent several months with Chris and Rachael when Callisen was very young (3 maybe) on the island he was caretaking for in the Bahamas. North of Normans Cay. We would love to get in touch with them and have been trying for awhile to get an email address for them, when we ran across your blog. Our address is kwinnie@sc.rr.com if you could pass that along. (We do love your pictures too.)
